He attended the Saskatchewan Teachers College (1954) and received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education (1958) and a Masters in Fine Art (1959) from the University of Wisconsin. As Professor and Head of the Department of Art at the Univer After graduating from university Rogers spent a few months in New York City. He then joined the faculty of the arts department of the University of Saskatchewan, where he taught from 1959 to 1988. His student Robert Christie remembers Rogers as a charismatic teacher.
