In what ways are archaea similar to bacteria
Web25 sep. 2012 · Bacteria. The Bacteria are considered as unicellular prokaryotic organisms. Unlike eukaryotes, bacteria cells lack an organized nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts and other membrane bounded organelles. Bacterial cell has only a circular DNA, which does not associate with histone protein. Bacteria do not show sexual reproduction methods. Web13 sep. 2000 · Archaea (as exemplified by Pyrococcus sp.) replicate their circular genome from a single DNA replication origin as do bacteria, even though they may use eukaryotic-like proteins to do so (Figure 1; [ 1 ]). This single-origin replication is definitely un-human, as our DNA replication depends on initiation at thousands of different origins.

Web2 dagen geleden · Archaea and bacteria also share certain genes, so they function similarly in some ways. But archaeans also share genes with eukaryotes, as well as having many genes that are completely unique. Archaea are so named because they are believed to be the least evolved forms of life on Earth (‘archae’ meaning ‘ancient’).
