WebThis treatment can reduce the number of platelets in your blood. Platelets are cells that help the blood to clot. If the number of platelets is low, you may bruise or bleed easily. You may have: nosebleeds bleeding gums heavy periods blood in your urine (pee) or stools (poo) tiny red or purple spots on the skin that may look like a rash. Webcisplatin It is a treatment for a number of different types of cancer. How GC works These chemotherapy drugs destroy quickly dividing cells, such as cancer cells. How you have GC You have these drugs into your bloodstream (intravenously). You might have treatment through a long plastic tube that goes into a large vein in your chest.
